Connecting your WHMCS to your reseller account Print

  • 0

Your reseller hosting works with WHMCS, so your customers can order, pay and have their hosting set up, suspended and renewed automatically. You need your own WHMCS licence, which you buy directly from WHMCS. This guide shows you how to connect it to your reseller account.

1. Tell us your WHMCS server’s IP address
WHMCS connects to our server to create and manage accounts, and our firewall blocks connections it does not recognise. Raise a ticket with the public IP address your WHMCS runs on, and we will add it to the allow-list. Your WHMCS host can tell you the address if you are not sure.

2. Add our server in WHMCS
In your WHMCS admin area, go to Configuration → System Settings → Servers and click Add New Server. Enter:

  • Name: anything you like, for example “My Hosting”
  • Hostname: cp.mywebsitehost.co.uk
  • IP Address: the server IP address shown in your welcome email
  • Module: DirectAdmin
  • Username and Password: your reseller login for the Hosting Panel
  • Secure: ticked, with Port 2222

Click Test Connection. When it succeeds, click Save Changes. If the test fails, check that we have confirmed your IP address is allowed (step 1).

3. Create your packages in the Hosting Panel
Log in to the Hosting Panel at Reseller level and go to Account Manager → Manage User Packages. Create a package for each plan you want to sell, with the disk space, domains and databases it should include. Leave E-mail Accounts at 0, as email is not available on our hosting servers.

4. Create your products in WHMCS
In WHMCS, create a product for each plan. On the Module Settings tab, choose DirectAdmin, select the server you added in step 2, and pick the matching package name. WHMCS will then set up each customer’s account automatically when they order.

5. Selling email to your customers
To offer email, activate OX App Suite in your WHMCS under Configuration → System Settings → MarketConnect. You buy it from WHMCS at wholesale and sell it at your own price. It runs on Open-Xchange’s mail platform, not on our servers.

6. Add your own branding
In the Hosting Panel at Reseller level, open Customize Evolution Skin to add your own logo, colours and menu. Your customers see your branding once they log in.

If you have any trouble, raise a ticket and we will sort it out.
