Managed VPS hosting in the UK

A Managed VPS gives your websites a server of their own. Its processor cores, memory and NVMe storage are reserved for you rather than shared with other customers, so a busy neighbour can never slow your sites down. Servers run in a London data centre.

Managed means we look after the server for you. We set it up with the DirectAdmin control panel, keep the operating system and software up to date, monitor it and back it up off-site every day. You run your websites in DirectAdmin, and we take care of everything underneath.

Which plan is right for you?

• Managed VPS 2 has 4 vCores, 8 GB of memory and 75 GB of NVMe storage. It suits a busy business website, an online shop, or a web designer moving client sites off shared hosting.
• Managed VPS 3 has 6 vCores, 12 GB of memory and 100 GB of storage, for larger shops, membership sites and sites with heavy traffic or large databases.

Both plans host up to 50 domains, with free SSL certificates on every one.

Questions

When should I move from shared hosting to a VPS?

When your site regularly slows down at busy times, outgrows the storage on Web Pro or WordPress Business, or needs server settings that shared hosting can't offer. If you're not sure, contact us and we'll help you decide.

How long does setup take?

Your server is usually ready within 1 working day of payment. We email your control panel login details as soon as it's set up.

Is there a setup fee?

There's a one-off £25 setup fee if you pay monthly. Pay annually and there's no setup fee, and the price works out at £37.50 a month for Managed VPS 2 or £54.17 a month for Managed VPS 3.

Do I get root access?

No. Because we manage the server, we keep root access so we can keep it secure and up to date. You control your websites in DirectAdmin, and if you need something changed on the server itself, such as a PHP setting or extra software, open a ticket and we'll do it for you.

Is email included?

Email isn't hosted on the server, so a full mailbox can never affect your websites. Each plan includes one Professional Email mailbox: add Professional Email to your basket with the code FREEMAILBOX. You can add more mailboxes at any time.

Can you move my websites for me?

Yes, free of charge, as long as you can give us access to your current hosting. Open a ticket once you've ordered, and we'll move your sites as soon as your server is ready.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. Open a ticket and we'll move you from Managed VPS 2 to Managed VPS 3.
