Nova builds websites and simple web apps from a description. This guide covers opening Nova, writing your first prompt and refining what it builds.
1. Get Nova
Order Nova from the Nova AI Website Builder page. The Free plan costs nothing and gives you 3 AI credits to try it out. You can move to a paid plan at any time.
2. Open Nova
Log in to your client area, open Services and select your Nova plan. Use the button there to open Nova. You don't need a separate password.
3. Describe what you want
Type your idea into the prompt box. It doesn't need to be perfect: one clear sentence is enough for a first draft. You'll get better results if you say:
- what it is: a website, or a tool such as a booking form or calculator,
- what visitors should do: get in touch, book, buy or sign up,
- who it's for: your customers, your club's members, your clients,
- any must-haves: particular pages, your opening hours, a colour scheme or a tone of voice.
For example: "A website for my hair salon in Newark, with a price list, opening hours and a booking request form. Warm, friendly and modern."
Before you send it, you can click Improve Prompt to have Nova expand your idea into a fuller brief.
4. Build
Choose Agent Mode to start building straight away, or Plan Mode to have Nova suggest a plan for you to approve first. Then click Start Building. Each message you send Nova uses one AI credit.
5. Refine it
Treat the first version as a starting point.
- Ask for changes in the chat, one or two at a time: "Make the header darker and add a testimonials section."
- Edit Mode lets you click any element and change its text, fonts, colours or layout yourself. It doesn't use credits.
- Preview your project at desktop, tablet and mobile sizes before you publish.
- Project Instructions (Build plan and above) set rules Nova follows for the whole project, such as your brand colours or "always use British English".
6. Publish
When you're happy, publish it to your own domain. Publishing needs the Start plan or above. See Publishing your Nova project to your own domain.
