Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This page lists the cookies our website and client area use, and how to control them.
Cookies we need to run the website
These are essential. Without them you couldn't log in, place an order or pay securely, so they don't need your consent.
- WHMCS session cookie (name beginning
WHMCS): keeps you logged in and remembers your basket. Deleted when you close your browser. - Stripe (
__stripe_mid,__stripe_sid): set by our payment provider, Stripe, to detect and prevent fraudulent payments. Lasts up to one year (__stripe_mid) or 30 minutes (__stripe_sid). - Google sign-in (
g_state): set only if you use "Sign in with Google", to remember that choice.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit our website and which pages they use, so we can improve it. We use it only to produce statistics about our website. It isn't used for advertising, Google Signals is switched off, and we don't let Google use the data for its own purposes. It doesn't tell us who you are.
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*): distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts up to two years. - Your cookie choice (
mwh_cookie_consent, stored in your browser on our main website): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don't ask on every page.
On our main website (mywebsitehost.co.uk), Google Analytics only runs if you choose "Accept analytics" when we ask. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
In our client area and basket, the platform we use doesn't let us show a cookie choice, so analytics cookies are set without asking first. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025) allows this when the cookies are used only to collect statistics about how the site is used, so we can improve it, as long as we tell you about them and give you a simple, free way to opt out.
Google processes this data in the United States. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How to opt out of analytics
You can stop Google Analytics recording your visits in any of these ways. Each is free and takes a minute:
- On our main website, choose "Reject analytics", or use the Cookie settings link to change your mind later.
- Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every website you visit.
- Block cookies from mywebsitehost.co.uk in your browser settings (see the links below). This also blocks the essential cookies, so you won't be able to log in or order.
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode, or a browser or extension that blocks tracking.
How to control cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop you logging in or ordering. Each browser explains how:
