You can move to a bigger or smaller plan at any time from your account. Your website, files, databases and email stay exactly where they are; only the plan's limits and price change.
How to change plan
- Log in to your account and open Services.
- Click the service you want to change.
- Choose Upgrade/Downgrade in the side menu.
- Pick the new plan. The page shows what you'll pay before you confirm.
- Confirm and pay the invoice, if there is one.
The change is made as soon as the invoice is paid, usually within a minute or two. There's nothing to move and no downtime.
What you pay
You don't pay twice for the same days. The change is worked out by the day: you're credited for the days you've already paid for on your old plan, and charged the new plan's price for the same days, up to your next renewal. The page shows the difference before you confirm. From then on, you pay the new plan's price.
Your renewal date stays the same.
Pay the upgrade invoice promptly. If it's still unpaid when your next renewal invoice is created, the upgrade is cancelled and your plan renews as it is.
Before you downgrade
Check you're within the smaller plan's limits first: disk space, number of websites and number of databases. If you're over a limit, the change can't be completed until you've made room. Your Hosting Panel shows how much of each you're using.
Moving between types of hosting
The Upgrade/Downgrade list shows the plans you can move to directly. Moving between different types, for example from Web Hosting to a Managed VPS, or to Reseller Hosting, involves moving your website to a different setup. Open a ticket and we'll arrange it for you.
Extra mailboxes
Professional Email is changed in a different place: see Creating mailboxes and email aliases.
